Privacy Policy

Takwa (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is a free browser-based pomodoro timer at www.takwa.app. Your privacy matters to us. Here's exactly what we do and don't do with your data.

Your study data

Tasks, notes, drawings, uploaded wallpaper, agenda entries and preferences are saved in your browser. These contents are not sent to PostHog. No account is required. Clearing browser data removes locally saved work.

Product analytics

We use PostHog to understand feature use, completed focus sessions and return visits. PostHog stores a random identifier in your browser's localStorage. This pseudonymous identifier recognizes a browser, not a named account, and may change if you clear storage or use another device.

We send planned usage events, broad device/browser information and sanitized page paths. We do not send task text, notes, drawings, uploaded images, email addresses, feedback messages, prayer preferences or precise location to PostHog. Automatic click capture and session recording are disabled. PostHog receives network requests and may derive an approximate location from them. Our project is configured to discard client IP addresses before storage.

You can turn product analytics off at any time in Settings → Privacy. Product analytics also respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Turning analytics off stops future product events; it does not delete events already received. Learn more in PostHog's privacy policy.

Basic website analytics and hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel and also uses Vercel Web Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics for basic traffic measurement. These existing services are separate from the PostHog product analytics setting. Hosting and third-party providers process network information to deliver their services. Information you choose to send

If you submit feedback, your message and optional reply email are sent through our feedback service (Resend). If you subscribe for updates, your email is stored by our subscription service. These features require the services to be configured. Their analytics events contain only the action taken, not your message or email.

Optional external services

Opening Spotify or YouTube loads its embedded player. Your saved music links stay on this device. Loading prayer times sends your selected city or approved coordinates to the prayer-time provider. Those services have their own privacy practices. Location is requested only when you choose to use it.

Changes and requests

We update this page when our data practices change. We do not sell your data. Contact us for questions or data requests; please do not send the contents of your notes or tasks.
